IndieWire, an entertainment site owned by Penske Media Corp., has laid off three key employees.
They are Tony Maglio, executive editor of news; Erin Strecker, TV executive editor; and Tom Brueggemann, box office editor, according to The Wrap.
Staffers were informed of the cutbacks on Thursday afternoon, The Wrap reports.
The Hollywood Reporter, another Penske title, reduced its staff by several positions last summer, The Wrap adds.
Maglio and Strecker had been with IndieWire since 2022, and Brueggemann had been with the site since 2016.
These are among several layoffs that have occurred so far this year.
In January, the Washington Post laid off 4% of its staff, mostly on the business side. The layoffs affected 73 people in the advertising department.
That same month, Dotdash Meredith laid off 173 people across multiple departments.
CNN laid off 200 staffers, 6% of its workforce, as part of a new digital strategy.
