The Washington Post has lost
75,000 digital subscriptions since last Wednesday, when owner Jeff Bezos announced that the opinion pages would be overhauled, NPR reports.
This follows the 300,000 cancellations that occurred
after Bezos killed an endorsement of former Vice President Kamala Harris for President last October.
The Wednesday announcement was accompanied by the resignation of opinions editor
David Shipley.
“We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets,” Bezos wrote in an email to
Post staffers. “We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others.”
