One senior QSR executive has traded in a decade of donuts for a new role leading a drive-thru salad chain.
Dallas-based Salad and Go hired Mike Tattersfield as CEO. The growing drive-thru-only salad chain, with approximately 140 stores across Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and Nevada, touts a mission to “make nutritious food accessible for everyone.”
Tattersfield joined the quick service salad seller most recently from national donut chain Krispy Kreme, where he served as president and CEO for almost ten years. Prior to Krispy Kreme, Tattersfield’s more than thirty years of experience includes serving in multiple senior leadership positions in QSR and retail, including as CEO of Caribou Coffee Company and Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, president at YUM Brands, and COO at Lululemon
"Mike is exactly the proven leader we need to unlock Salad and Go's full potential," said Florian van Rappard, Salad and Go director and partner at lead shareholder Volt Investment Holdings in the announcement. "His mission-driven orientation and track record of brand building at multiple successful companies make him the ideal person to guide Salad and Go through its next chapter of growth and impact."

And Tattersfield isn’t just the CEO; he’s also a minority owner of the brand, per the announcement.
Salad and Go claims it is able to quickly serve its health-conscious fare by using a centralized kitchen model, which delivers to its locations. As a drive-thru, each location has with a small 750 square-foot footprint. In addition to salads, which begin at around $8, the menu includes wraps, juices and breakfast items.
