The Washington Post has hired Sara
Kehaulani Goo as president, Creator Network.
Goo, who most recently served as editor in chief of Axios, will be tasked with “building a new business with creators through an
innovative commercial model, embracing AI to make and distribute content, and building the tools, services, and infrastructure needed to help creators succeed,” says Suzi Watford, chief strategy
officer, to whom Goo will report.
Watford calls this the “newest iteration of our third newsroom.”
This new unit will focus on building
“personality-driven content and franchises in topic areas that are of interest to our target audiences,” Watford adds.
The group will operate independently from the newsroom, while
reporting to Watford to create new commercial opportunities.
This is Goo’s second turn with The Post. She previously worked there as an editor and
reporter.
