New York AG Threatens To Sue Conde Nast Over Firings

Conde Nast may be facing a lawsuit over its firing of four employees who confronted Stan Duncan, the firm's HR director, over the recent layoffs at Teen Vogue.

Attorney General Letitia James made the threat on Wednesday during a rally outside New York's World Trade Center, where Condé Nast is headquartered, Fox reports.

"I want you to know that I'm not afraid to march into a courtroom to assure that the rights of these individuals, and the rights of all workers, is respected and honored," James said, according to Fox.

It is unclear how such a case could proceed against, given that James and Condé Nast both have their own problems.

Last month, James was indicted on one count of bank fraud and one count of making a false statement to a financial institution. Critics have called this an act of retaliation by the Trump Administration for James’ actions against Trump.

The News Guild of New York has protested the firings at Condé Nast.

“These terminations are a blatant act of retaliation and an attempt to silence union journalists holding power to account,” the union said.
