'York Dispatch' And 'York Daily Record' To Operate As One

USA Today Co. is combining two Pennsylvania newspapers -- York Dispatch and York Daily Record -- into a single entity next year.

They will be unified under the York Daily Record brand, the Dispatch reports.

The two have operated with unified circulation, advertising and production, but with competing newsrooms. They also worked together to produce theYork Sunday News.

Scott Fisher, executive editor of the Daily Record, will continue in that role in the new restructured newsroom, the Dispatch reports.

“For decades, the Dispatch and Daily Record have been dedicated to delivering trusted local news to York residents — a commitment that remains unchanged,” says Michael A. Anastasi, senior vice president of local news for USA Today Co., in a statement. “By bringing together our teams and experience, just as we do with our Sunday edition, we’re strengthening our ability to serve the community and ensure local journalism thrives for years to come.”
