Eeny, meeny, miny, moe

On 3/7/07 I’m up for a new cell phone with Verizon. My current phone, the Samsung SCH-A670, has been with me for two years. It’s got 2 years worth of photos, texts, and numbers. All in all it’s been a great phone for me. I’ve not lost it, broke it, or even dropped it in water. It still works, although the battery life is only a day. And there are a few dog bites on the front of it. All in all I’m sad and happy to see it retire.

My New Choices:
Samsung SCH-u340 – Just your basic phone. I wouldn’t be getting anything that I don’t already have. But I know it would be a phone I would enjoy. It’s not too large; it makes phone calls and sends text messages. It’s gotten good reviews on Cnet.com for being a good basic free phone.

Samsung SCH-u740
– (Can you tell I enjoy Samsung, all my phones have been Samsung or Nokia, but since Nokia stopped making the phone I really enjoyed I switched to Samsung.) Back to the phone. It does this really neat flip trick, plays music, it’s sleek looking. However the main difference of this phone and the basic phone is VCast, which I cannot afford until I have a real job. This phone receives an 8 out of 10 on Cnet reviews.

Verizon Wireless XV6700– This is what I would consider the ‘adult professional’ phone. It’s a pda and a phone all in one. I’m uncertain if I want this type of responsibility as an adult. Also I’m fearful of losing it. It’s an expensive phone, more appropriately a cheap small computer. But the main deterrent, it would cost me $200 with all the discounts. Also, this phone received 6.3 out of 10 on Cnet reviews. I’m a big dork and always have my cell phone clipped to my side. I’ve done this for the last 4 years, mainly because I’ve lost a few cell phones in my lifetime and this phone would be big on my hip.

My final assessment: I will go into the store and hold all of the phones. The I will make my final decision and order it online. Anyone have any suggestions.
