A small taste of reality came two weeks ago with all the rain. At my rented house we got 18 inches of water in the basement. Washer, dryer, deep freeze, furnace all broken and needed to be replaced. All cardboard boxes icky and wet, had to be thrown away to the trash person. Contents of the boxes needed to be bleached and washed. It was awful, luckily the landlord was fast on his feet and it’s all cleaned up.
But the point, that is all can be destroyed quickly. Electronics are not all water proof, or fire proof, and it all is relatively expensive to replace.
Luckily I didn’t have any of my electronics in the basement. Yet I did lose a small amount. God may have made the flood, but it’s thanks to my renter’s insurance I can have it
