Cable channel BET is rolling out five new prime time shows this month as part of a "July Jump Off." Among the original fare is "Hell Date," a reality show where the net says contestants are searching
for their soulmate, but are paired with an actor or actress who will actually be their worst nightmare come to life.
Also on tap are "Take the Cake," a live interactive game show;
"Baldwin Hills," a docudrama about the sons and daughters of doctors, lawyers, actors and athletes, along with those in a nearby rough neighborhood; and "Socially Offensive Behavior (S.O.B.)," a show
BET says is "a raw, uncensored look at the issues that confound and divide us." Finally, it will offer up "Hot Ghetto Mess," a half-hour clip show that uses comedy, man-on-the-street interviews and
shocking video clips "to shine a spotlight on the good, the bad and the ugly of black popular culture."
