College students seems to be getting more serious, at least when it comes to their media habits. In this fall's survey by Anderson Analytics, college kids' favorite brands are Facebook, Nike,
iPod and Time magazine.
TimeCosmo as the No. 1 magazine, and jumped ahead of last year's No. 2, People. CNN.com made it into
the top 10 Web sites for the first time, while sites such as Perez Hilton and CollegeHumor dropped off the list. Overall, the tone of the answers in the survey seemed a lot weightier than in years
past, say researchers. They attribute it to the appeal of Barack Obama's campaign issues on younger voters.
In the annual research project, more than 1,000 students across the nation are asked to quickly list things such as a favorite magazine or good book they had read recently.
