  • Search In A Social World: Diverging From The Straight And Narrow  in Online Media Daily on 03/03/2008

Online marketers take note: the Video Web is dictating a fundamental break from the traditional search we've come to know and swear by. The old paradigm is changing dramatically. • The Biggest Problem With Online Video Is Video by Ari Rosenberg (Publishing Insider on 09/10/2009)

Hi Ari- Nicely put. Video/Television/Live Video by any other name still smells like video and your post does a good job pointing to an evolved model and highly probable use case. Live video is here, anyone can stream it. Video clips, they're here, anyone can upload them. TV episodes, they're here, too. TV News, yup. Porn, well that accounts for the majority of the video users search for and watch. As time goes on the lines will blur where live video, clips, TV episodes, movies will serve individuals who hunger to see whats going on in their world and desire to be entertained. And those who will pay for it will be advertisers, rights holders and possibly people like you and me who put value on quality and the ability to provide a relevant service.

  • Study: Social Networks Drive Video Views by Gavin O'Malley (Online Media Daily on 02/12/2009)

Excellent survey. Thanks to Brett, David, Mark and the guys at TubeMogul for sharing it. It should come as no surprise that the longtail is alive and well on the video web. What is remarkable is people are discovering video primarily through referral and sharing among one another.
