The age of Big Scary Chief Creative is over. Why? For one thing, the kids won't put up with it. The new leadership needs to be generous and approachable. Does this mean we should lack toughness? Or that "nice" is a way to get things done? No. But what if we saw feedback as a gift, and the opportunity to give feedback as an honor?

Hint: It's not work-life balance, at least in the agency business. To me, balance is 50/50, an equal distribution of weight. And to be frank, the distribution between my work life and my home life is sometimes 90/10 or 10/90. With a demanding travel schedule and two children under the age of five, my life looks a lot more like controlled chaos than balance.
