Daniel Black, Glass-Media Chief Executive Officer and Founder Daniel Black is often referred to as an entrepreneurial rebel for making the decision to leave the Silicon Valley bubble to launch his retail marketing technology company, Glass-Media, in Dallas, Texas. Daniel’s passion for digital point-of-presence (POP) marketing arose as a result of his frustrations with the status quo and lack of innovation of storefront and in-store signage. Glass-Media is rapidly uprooting the signage space due to its unique emphasis to digital signage solutions and transforming the POP landscape through its full service, proprietary projection-based display platform. Their product enables brands to interact and engage with their street-level audience all while measuring and establishing key performance indicators and ROI by projecting a brands own marketing content onto their own storefront windows. Daniel’s entire professional career, while short, has focused in and around digital marketing and technology. Daniel began his career in one of San Diego’s fastest growing private companies focusing on lead generation where he learned the power of online and consumer testing. Later, working alongside notable industry professionals, he would diversify his digital marketing prowess into SEO, Content Marketing, Big Data and Predictive Analytics. Since moving to Dallas in 2013, Daniel has quickly become an integral part of the startup community. Daniel is a mentor for several Dallas-based accelerators as well as an advisor to a number of early stage startups throughout the country. In February 2015, Daniel was co-featured on the cover of D CEO in an article entitled “The New Faces of Dallas Tech.” He was also named a finalist for the Tech Titans Emerging Company CEO Award in the same year. Daniel has been mentioned in noteworthy publications such as Entrepreneur, NPR, Tech Cocktail, Dallas Morning News, Dallas Business Journal, and LaunchDFW. Daniel attributes much of his success to the education he received at Claremont McKenna College, he graduated with a dual major in Economics and Government with a leadership studies sequence. To this day, Daniel is heavily involved with the College’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) and was honored to be selected as a Kravis Leadership Fellow. Since moving to Dallas, Daniel has fallen in love with Texas hospitality, a lower cost of living and authentic people.
