James Shears is the EVP of Advanced Advertising for Sorenson Media. In this role, James works to develop strategic partnerships with inventory owners within the TV landscape. He also leads the addressable sales team focused on bringing targeted television opportunities to the market. He has spent his entire career in and around television. Immediately before joining Sorenson, James was the GM of Advanced TV for The Trade Desk, a demand-side platform focusing on making programmatic television a reality. Before that James was at Dish Network where he led the addressable and programmatic teams. While there, he launched the world’s first impression by impression marketplace for linear addressable advertising. James earned is degree from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia where he grew up.
