As EVP, Chief Strategy Officer at BARKER, Jason Spies is responsible for creating meaningful growth, with a focus on launches, turnarounds and innovation. Since joining BARKER in July 2016, he has created strategies which have attracted a number of new clients for the agency including Sunsweet, Bausch & Lomb, Totes Isotoner, Holy Name Medical Center, and Bennigan’s. Before joining BARKER, he was Director, Business Development at StrawberryFrog, leading new business wins associated with Jockey Women’s Apparel, FujiFilm Instax, and the country of Albania. Prior, he was the Director, Business Development at Night Agency, where he helped the shop win Ad Age Northeast Small Agency of the Year on the heels of work associated with new clients he brought in (ie. KEDS, Nestle, Hanes, and Shiseido, to name a few). Spies began his career in the music industry, during which he spearheaded two successful record labels – while working with the likes of Mötley Crüe – along with creating one of the industry’s first-ever new media departments.
