Disinformation campaigns and fake news are more prevalent as U.S. more consumers rely on social media for news. Many Americans worry about this trend and whether they’ll have access to trustworthy news sources in the future as journalism is demonetized, according to a report by researcher Ipsos.
“When asked, Americans say just about everyone has a responsibility to stop fake news: platforms, politicians, regulators and media users themselves,” according to Ipsos. “As the world grows more complex and disinformation campaigns evolve, polling will remain an essential tool for each of these audiences.”
