Social Media Immerses Teens In Conspiracy Theories, Falsehoods

American teenagers are exposed to conspiracy theories on social media with “alarming frequency,” leading many to believe in misinformation, according to a study by the nonprofit News Literacy Project.

"As we head into the final stretch of an election season defined by the spread of information disorder, this survey demonstrates that we urgently need to prepare our young people to discern credible news from misleading or false information," Charles Salter, president and chief executive of the News Literacy Project.
