U.S. consumers this year spent about $3,275 on average on electronic media, including internet, TV, mobile streaming and mobile expenses, according to estimates by internet-review site Reviews.org.
The amount that consumers spent on these services fell 3% from a year earlier, defying the inflationary trends in other products and services, according to the site.
“The average American’s monthly streaming TV budget decreased by $13 in 2024 (now $42 per month), which could be due to a combination of wider adoption of cheaper ad-supported tier streaming subscriptions and also consumers choosing to use fewer streaming services,” Reviews.org said.
