U.S. consumers said their spending on Valentine’s Day this year will hit a record $27.5 billion, up 6.6% from a year ago, according to an annual survey
by the National Retail Federation and Prosper Insights & Analytics.
The total will overtake the prior record of $27.4 billion set in 2020, right before the World Health Organization declared that Covid-19 was a pandemic. Shoppers plan to spend $188.81 on average on the holiday, up from $185.81 in 2024.
