Study Reveals Alarming Exposure Of Young Boys To Sexualized Gun Ads Online

A new national survey released by Sandy Hook Promise highlights a troubling trend: young boys across the U.S. are frequently exposed to provocative, often sexualized, gun-related content online — and most parents remain unaware.

The research, conducted in partnership with KRC Research, surveyed boys aged 10 to 17 and their parents, revealing stark discrepancies between what children see and what their parents know. It found that a majority of boys are encountering online firearm content that experts warn is not only inappropriate but potentially dangerous — especially in a country where firearms remain the leading cause of death among children.
