Facing growing economic uncertainty, Americans are tightening household budgets and reshaping their spending habits, according to a survey a from research firm Alter Agents in partnership with OpinionRoute. The findings suggest that "loyalty is the new luxury" in 2025, with shoppers doubling down on trusted brands, rewards programs and financial prudence.

The nationally representative study of over 1,000 U.S. adults reveals that 45% plan to eliminate unnecessary purchases, while 36% are reducing how often they dine out. One in five respondents say they are postponing or canceling vacations altogether, a trend that correlates with higher economic pessimism and political leanings toward the left.
