Gen Z Drives MLB All-Star Buzz As Viewership Surges Midseason

}
With Major League Baseball’s All-Star festivities set to kick off next week in Atlanta, fresh data from CivicScience suggests the league’s midseason momentum is holding strong, particularly among younger fans. Despite early-season concerns about waning engagement among 18- to 29-year-olds, Gen Z is now emerging as a key driver of viewership for marquee events like the Home Run Derby and All-Star Game.

According to the researcher’s recent survey, a majority of MLB viewers plan to tune into at least one of the All-Star events, with nearly 40% of Gen Z respondents saying they’ll watch both. While neither event has a clear edge in popularity, overall interest among young fans is notably high. That enthusiasm, however, declines sharply among older age groups.
