As prices continue to rise and household budgets tighten, U.S. consumers are feeling the pressure, especially when navigating the increasingly fragmented and costly TV subscription landscape. A new report from Hub Entertainment Research reveals that many consumers are reaching their financial limits when it comes to paying for TV services, particularly streaming subscriptions.

According to Hub's 2025 "Monetizing Video" report, consumers are spending an average of $83 a month on TV services, with those subscribed to three or more services indicating they are spending more than they would like. The study shows that many are unwilling to increase their spending, with the average consumer only willing to pay a few extra dollars, capping their budgets at $86 a month. This shift highlights a growing reluctance to add more subscriptions despite the expanding array of streaming options available.
