American Eagle’s latest campaign featuring actress Sydney Sweeney has boosted overall approval but deepened political divides, according to new survey data from YouGov.

The ad, launched July 23 with the tagline “Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans,” drew both praise and criticism for its play on words. National approval rose to 59% in mid-August from 54% at the start of the month, with disapproval steady at 17%. But support now breaks sharply along party lines: 78% of Republicans view the ad positively, compared with just 38% of Democrats, widening the partisan gap to 40 points.
