One-Third Of Sports Fans Plan To Add New Streaming Service This Fall

With NFL games spread across at least six streaming platforms this season, sports fans are preparing to open their wallets wider. A new CivicScience survey finds 35% of fans plan to sign up for an additional streaming service this fall and winter specifically to watch sports.

The research shows demand skews younger: fans under 45 are far more likely to add a subscription, although about one in five fans over 45 also expect to do so. Men are slightly more inclined than women, 36% to 34%. Older viewers, however, are more likely to already hold the subscriptions they need (13% compared with 8% of younger fans).
