Travel Tuesday is rapidly emerging as a major post-Thanksgiving shopping event, with new CivicScience data showing
rising consumer intent to take advantage of airfare, hotel and travel package discounts.
Among U.S. adults familiar with the promotion -- which falls on December 2 this year -- 45% say they’re likely to shop the deals, including 16% who are very likely and 29% who are somewhat likely. That marks an 11-point jump from last year, following flat intent between 2023 and 2024.
Interest in Travel Tuesday is strongest among Gen Z adults (18–29) and households earning under $100,000 annually. But the appeal extends well beyond frequent travelers: even one-third of consumers who say leisure travel is “not at all” important still plan to browse the deals, with intent climbing alongside a consumer’s interest in pleasure travel.
