Nearly nine in 10 Americans continue to celebrate Christmas, underscoring the holiday’s enduring power as a mass cultural moment even as its religious dimensions steadily recede, according to new polling from Gallup.

The survey, conducted Dec. 1 to 15, found that 88% of U.S. adults say they celebrate Christmas, little changed from last year and only modestly below levels seen two decades ago.
