Everyone Says AI Trust Matters, But Almost Nobody Measures It

For years, technology companies promised that artificial intelligence would make everything faster, smarter and more efficient. According to a new Ipsos surveyof UX researchers, AI has successfully delivered at least one of those things: a faster way to discover that users don't trust you.

The report, based on feedback from members of the Seattle Research Community, found that trust has become the central challenge of AI product design. Researchers say users want AI's benefits, fear its mistakes and increasingly expect companies to explain what their systems are doing. Meanwhile, many organizations continue treating trust as something that sounds important in presentations rather than something worth measuring.
