Social Media Help Raise Awareness For Livestream Shopping

CommerceNext's "2022 Consumer Trends: Metaverse and Social Commerce" forecasts that social media companies are on the brink of promoting a mix of content and commerce in shopping livestreams to diversify their revenues as the digital advertising market matures.

Currently, 54% of U.S. consumers said they haven't heard of livestream shopping, and only 4% have bought products through livestream shopping. However, according to a report, "Social commerce remains the retailer's most immediate opportunity to obtain better visibility, increased ROI, and more trackability," and "Despite the low numbers of current watchers/buyers, livestream shopping has a lot of upside potential."
