Apple News Emerges As iPhone Maker's 'Killer App'

“Apple News has indeed established a decent hold over a significant share of U.S. Apple customers,” according to a survey by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners. “In this respect, Apple might finally have another must-have app that meets a customer need and is a welcome intermediary for content providers.”

In the 12-month period through March, 24% of Apple buyers said they use Apple News as either a stand-alone app or as part of Apple One. A quarter of U.S. Apple customers “represents tens of millions of users, an enormous audience relative to what individual media outlets can expect on their own,” CIRP said in its online newsletter.
