Generation Z, the group of people born in the years 1997 to 2012, is considered the first generation of an entirely internet-connected age, having grown up using social media and content-sharing apps. Online relationships are formed by creating and consuming digital content, and Gen Zers are sophisticated in how they use digital tools for expression, according to a white paper by video-editing software maker Wondershare Filmora.

"Driven by expression, authenticity and entertainment, content creation is a passion for Gen Z,” according to the report, which has results from a survey of 1,000 Gen Zers. “This passion not only provides them with flexible working hours, but also the potential for passive income.”
