Spending on consumer goods last year rose 8.6%, the second-fastest rate of the past 12 years, according to a report
from researchers Kantar, Numerator and CPS-GfK. The highest growth was several years ago, when consumers were in a panic to stock up their pantries amid pandemic lockdowns.
