Ellis Promoted To EVP Sales At AOL's Platform-A

Mark Ellis of AOL's Platform-AAOL's Platform-A ad network on Wednesday named Mark Ellis as EVP of Sales. Ellis's appointment is the latest in a series of organizational changes made by recently named Platform-A President Greg Coleman.

"One of our key areas of focus at Platform-A is to build the best ad sales team in the business," said Coleman in a statement. Coleman most recently named new heads of Platform-A technologies and Platform-A's New York office, and the creation of a new Marketing Solutions organization.

Based in Platform-A's New York offices, Ellis will oversee ad sales across Platform-A, including premium sales on AOL's MediaGlow properties and across Platform-A's third-party network.

Alluding to the network's "combination of content, scale and state-of-the-art technologies," Ellis said: "Add in an outstanding sales team, and Platform-A will be unstoppable." Ellis has been with AOL for five years -- most recently serving as SVP, vertical and product sales, where he oversaw category sales, property sales, and product sales, including SEM, search marketplace, Quigo, mobile, and behavioral targeting.

Ellis joined AOL in 2004 when he was tapped to head up AOL's Detroit office, and he subsequently managed the central division consisting of Detroit, Chicago and Dallas and then the East division consisting of New York, Boston, Dulles, Atlanta and Detroit.
