Crabtree & Evelyn Files For Bankruptcy

Crabtree & Evelyn, the U.S. division of the fancy soap retailer, based in Woodstock, Conn., has filed for bankruptcy, and says it hopes to reevaluate its real estate portfolio, strengthen brand
strategies and restructure its debts, while continuing to operate on a day-to-day basis.
The bankruptcy covers U.S. stores only, not affiliates in other countries.--Sarah Mahoney
