Nike Names Spillane New Converse CEO

  • October 13, 2009
Nike says Michael Spillane will be the new CEO of its Converse brand, replacing Jack Boys, who will retire. Spillane, who has been president of North America and global product for Nike's apparel business, will report to Eunan McLaughlin, president of Nike, Inc. affiliates.

While the Beaverton, Ore.-based company recently posted a 5% decline in revenues in its "other business" category, which includes not only Converse but Cole Haan, Hurley International, Nike Golf, and Umbro Ltd., it says in its release that Converse's brand growth has been exceptional, and that it just posted its most profitable first quarter to date.--Sarah Mahoney
