Best Buy Plans 24-Hour Store For Big Apple

  • October 15, 2009
In a nod to the "City that Never Sleeps," Best Buy says New York's Union Square will be home to its first-ever 24-hour store. Well, nearly 24 hours: Scheduled to open Nov.13, the new store will be open from 8 a.m. Monday through 12 a.m. on Sunday, re-opening for regular Sunday hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The Minneapolis-based chain says the store will also include its largest musical-instrument department to date. It says it selected the area, among other reasons, for its many college students, and that the store's Geek Squad will also provide round-the-clock service, as well as in-store pickup for items ordered online.--Sarah Mahoney
