Southwest Gives Facebook Fans Sneak Peek At Ads

  • September 3, 2010
Southwest Airlines is giving Facebook users who click "like" on their page the chance for a sneak peek at its fall TV spots.

The status update of the airline's Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/Southwest was changed at 9 a.m. Sept. 3 to say: Hey Fans! To get an EXCLUSIVE look at our new fall commercials visit the "Bags Fly Free" tab above! Let us know what you think!"

The caption for the spot reads: "When it comes to bag fees, they're not just baggage handlers -- they're the law. The boys in blue are kicking bag in the latest Bags Fly Free campaign: Good Cop Bag Cop. They're ramped up, they're hardcore, and they're back!"

As of 6 p.m. on Sept. 3, the two spots, with the theme "Good Cop, Bag Cop" had received 132 comments, the majority positive. The spots feature a couple of baggage "cops" exposing the high baggage fees that some other airlines charge. --Tanya Irwin
