Meredith Corp., publisher of
Better Homes and Gardens and
Ladies' Home Journal, has tapped consumer-mag veteran John Boland to lead advertising sales at
MORE. Boland, who
joins the women's lifestyle title as national sales director, previously served as publisher of
Expedia Travels (which recently suspended publication) and
Backpacker, and as
associate publisher of
Men's Journal. "We are thrilled to have someone with John's talent and experience joining us," said MORE publisher Carol Campbell in a press release. According to the
most recent Publishers Information Bureau data, MORE ran 298 ad pages during the first five months of 2003, a 40 percent increase over the year-ago period. The title, published ten times per year,
boasts a rate base of 850,000.
