Fall pilots are being screened and long-running shows may or may not be renewed. The ones "on the bubble," per the
Los Angeles Times, are: ABC's family drama "Brothers & Sisters," NBC's
perennially endangered comic caper "Chuck" and Fox's crime drama "Lie to Me." Other series, such as NBC's heavily publicized "The Event," ABC's superhero drama "No Ordinary Family" and CBS' "The
Defenders" are considered safe bets for cancellation.
A trend nobody's really noticed is that despite their golden run at the box office, superhero television shows are consistently failures - "No Ordinary Family," "The Cape," etc. The only comic book series that keeps chugging along is FOX's "Human Target," and it's a pretty straightforward action-adventure series.
