Veteran TV Journalist To Host Comcast Regional Network Show

CN8, The Comcast Network today announced that Emmy Award-winning anchor Barry Nolan will join the network as host of "CN8 Nitebeat," a 60-minute, issues oriented show with topics ranging from politics to entertainment to the day's top news stories. In conjunction with CN8's expansion to 2.2 million Comcast Cable homes in New England, "Nitebeat" will premiere Monday, May 12, and will air weekdays live from 7:00-8:00 PM/ET. Nolan is known to viewers nationwide for his work as senior correspondent for the nightly entertainment news program "Extra" and the seven years he spent as co-anchor of "Hard Copy." New England viewers will also remember Nolan as a high-profile figure on the local broadcasting scene, where he spent nine years as host of "Evening Magazine," winning three Emmy Awards and a Gabriel Award. Nolan is also the former anchor of the Fox show "Beyond Tomorrow" and ABC's "Over the Edge." He has appeared in several feature films, including "Independence Day" and "The Birdcage." Nolan is a native of Alexandria, VA and holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Tennessee. In addition to "CN8 Nitebeat," the network will air an extensive primetime lineup with original programming series that include "CN8 Sports Pulse," a nightly program focused on the local professional sports scene with additional reports on area high school and college match-ups; as well as the network's Emmy Award-winning signature shows: "It's Your Call with Lynn Doyle" an issue- oriented talk show that covers national issues at the local level and "Lou Tilley's Sports Connection" a fast-paced sports talk show that features local, regional and national sports
