WPP's MEC has been awarded the media planning and buying assignment for General Mills in the Middle East and North Africa region after a formal review, the client has confirmed. Annual ad spending on
the account is estimated at $8 million. The incumbent on the business was Interpublic's Initiative. The assignment covers Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Oman, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon,
Jordan. General Mills brands include Betty Crocker, Haagen Dazs, Green Giant and Pillsbury, among many others.
