Demi Moore Back As The Face Of Ann Taylor

Ann Taylor - Demi Moore

Who cares what that philandering Ashton Kutcher is up to, or how well his “Two And A Half Men” is doing? His wife, actress Demi Moore, is poised, polished and icy cool in Ann Taylor’s new holiday ad campaign. The print ads, shot by fashion photographer Norman Jean Roy in a campaign inspired by Nordic winters, are appearing in December fashion magazines.

Clad in items ranging from a faux chinchilla stole to a chandelier necklace to tweed pants, the ads aim to reflect the modern glamour the chain has been chasing in recent months.

A spokesperson for Ann Taylor says the ads, created inhouse, are scheduled to run in Vogue, InStyle, and Elle, as well as regional publications. Outdoor advertising is scheduled for such markets as New York, Washington D.C., Chicago and Boston. Ads will run online, as well.

The 48-year-old Moore and the 33-year-old Kutcher have long been tabloid fodder, and couldn’t be more high profile these days. Reportedly on the brink of divorce, Kutcher is said to have been involved in hot-tub romping and cheating.  And the fact that “Two And A Half Men”has reportedly fallen from 29 million viewers to just 17.7 million is getting plenty of press, too.

Like many specialty apparel chains, Ann Taylor has been struggling with softer-than-expected store sales, but has been adding factory-outlet stores and strengthening its e-commerce platforms. Back in August, in announcing its more recent quarterly results, the New York-based chain said it anticipated that positive customer response to its pre-fall product assortments would lead to positive comparable sales performance in all channels.

Separately, the company said it is pledging $1.3 million over a four-year period to a mentorship program called ANNpower Vital Voices Initiative. Partnering with Vital Voices, it will connect and inspire a strong network of high school junior and senior students across the U.S., with selected applicants receiving leadership training and grants to develop projects to advance women and girls in their communities and around the world. Ten recipients have already been chosen.
