Onitsuka Tiger Taps Pitch For U.S. Market Initiatives

Onitsuka Tiger, Japanese athletic and fashion brand, has tapped Pitch, an integrated marketing agency based in Culver City, Calif., as its U.S.  agency of record and also was named the Global Agency of Record with work that will run in early 2012.

The company said Pitch will navigate the brand from a niche position as a fashionable sneaker brand to a player in the sport-fashion category, the company said in a release. Pitch becomes the first American agency to win global business from Onitsuka Tiger in six years.

Onitsuka Tiger sent out an RFP from headquarters in Kobe, Japan. Prior to being selected as the marketing agency, Pitch had recently completed a contract to conduct proprietary consumer research for the brand.
