Sticky Meter: Univision, CBS, TNT Score Top Marks

Rizzoli-n-IslesWhen it comes to shows in which TV viewers hang around the longest for the duration of a particular episode, Univision and CBS earn top scores.

Rentrak's "Stickiness" Index has Univsion shows "La fuerza del destino" and "Una familia con suerte" grabbing the top two positions, scoring a 181 and 136 index, respectively.

While Univision has done well, among the English-language broadcast networks, CBS has grabbed the top 13 of 20 when it comes to stickiness: "NCIS" (3rd place, 133 Index); "CSI:NY" (4th, 128 index); "Blue Bloods"  (5th place, 127); and "Criminal Minds" (6th place, 127).

The top vote-getter for cable is TNT's "Rizzoli & Isles," grabbing a 157 score. Nickelodeon's "iCarly" is next, 154. Then USA Network reruns of "NCIS" at a 145.

Another cable winner: Hallmark Channel and the Hallmark Movie Channel, which took in eight of the top 20 spots. The movie "Sarah, Plain and Tall: Winter's End" was in fourth place with a 145. Also, "The Magic of Ordinary Days" and reruns of "Murder, She Wrote" pulled in a 140 number, good for eighth and ninth place, respectively.

Rentrak's “Stickiness” Index is the average percentage of the program viewed, divided by the average percentage viewed for all programs of that duration -- for example, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or 120 minutes in length.
