AOL research says reality TV is here to stay. Americans are conflicted about the nature of these shows -- are they exploitive? are they intrusive? are they dishonest? – but viewers can't resist their
addictive nature. In a recent AOL poll, 58% of AOL members who voted said they think the reality show craze is "embarrassing," yet literally millions of them log on to message boards and chat rooms
every day. The Internet has helped to propel public opinion and perpetuate the popularity of the reality TV phenomenon. The first AOL-exclusive preview for "Joe Millionaire" was viewed more than
200,000 times in one day. Exclusive clips of the show have been streamed more than three-quarters of a million times to date.
