Audit Bureau Overhauls Readership, Combination Sales Rules

  • March 17, 2004
The Audit Bureau of Circulations Tuesday said its board approved actions last week that would redefine readership and subscriber research verification standards and reports; and would also revise combination sales rules for newspapers, consumer magazines and business publications. The bureau's statement did not specify what changes were made to its readership rules, but said they mainly involved standardizing its custom Reader Profile and Subscriber Profile studies. The bureau said changes to its combination sales rules mainly involved simplifying and standardizing their language so that they could be easily understood between agencies and publishers. Details of the actions will be published in ABC's April 2004 News Bulletin and featured on ABC's Web site at www.accessabc.com.
