How to Land a Celebrity Like Cindy Crawford for Your Video Show
If you want to boost video views for your Web series, the conventional wisdom is you might want to find a celebrity. Easier said than done, but while watching this Cindy Crawford video from SheKnows.com in its “Mommalogues ” dedicated video blog site, I started thinking maybe it’s NOT too hard to find a celebrity.
I’m not discounting the effort and money it takes to sign up a celebrity or well-known person for a Web series. But this video demonstrates that you don’t have to ask a star to do that much. The video is less than one minute long, was shot in Crawford’s living room, and isn’t too involving for the star. Because if you’re reaching out to a busy person, you need to make it easy for them to fit the video into their busy schedules.
If you can do that, they’re more likely to say yes.
SheKnows has nabbed a handful of celebrities, and popular mom bloggers for its series, and they’ve helped drive views. The series has earned more than 3 million video views since the fall launch, SheKnows said. Other celebrity bloggers have included Candace Cameron and Mayim Bialik, while sponsors have included YoCrunch, Welch’s and Totino’s. Crawford’s videos will run in April. She will do a total of 12 videos. A new video will appear every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday through the week of April 30.
