2 Streamers Set To Debut: Xplore And Pac-12 Insider

Xplore and Pack-12 Insiders are the latest streamers to enter the market.

Xplore is Litton Entertainment’s debut in the streaming universe. The company’s TV shows include “Game Changers,” “Lucky Dog,” “Ocean Mysteries” and “Mission Unstoppable.” Talent includes Miranda Cosgrove, Kevin Frazier and Jack Hanna.

The free ad-supported streamer will launch in late November with 2,500+ hours of content the company claims will reach 50 million viewers. Samsung TV Plus, VIZIO SmartCast, The Roku Channel and Plex are onboard at inception. XUMO joins in Q1 2021.

Litton Entertainment is a division of Hearst TV.

Andrew Tew, Litton entertainment vice president of licensing and distribution/GM global channels, said the AVOD market is quickly evolving. He sees “a strong opportunity not only for impactful distribution but for original co-productions and first-run programming as well.”

In April, Litton kicked off The Daily Splash, an online hub that offered various family-friendly shows often focused on travel, animals and nature.

In addition, new broadband streaming sports channel Pac-12 Insider has launched on Samsung TV Plus, XUMO, Redbox Free Live TV,  Pac-12 Now app and pac-12.com.

The free AVOD offers sports fans football and basketball previews and highlights, stories of athletes and coaches and key moments of Conference of Champions play.

The service is fromPac-12 Networks, which is owned by 12 universities.

Live events from all 12 school include traditional sports, such as 30+ football games, 100+ men’s basketball games, Pac-12 Championship events and live Olympic events. Shows include “The Pregame, “Inside Pac-12 Football” and “Pac-12 All-Access.”

Other sports, with more of a niche viewership, are also available, such as rowing, soccer, lacrosse, field hockey, wrestling and water polo.
