TGI Fridays Promotes Brandon Coleman III To CEO

Today TGI Fridays announced the appointment of Brandon Coleman III to the position of chief executive officer. Coleman previously served as U.S. president and global chief marketing officer for the Dallas-based restaurant chain.

Coleman will focus on the company’s evolution as an experiential hospitality and entertainment destination through U.S. and international expansion and new menu items. TGI Fridays currently operates and franchises approximately 650 restaurants in 52 countries. Total systemwide sales for the company were $1.6 billion in 2022.

"TGI Fridays is entering a new era of growth … that will build on … the emotional connection o fgreat food and drinks along with fun and entertainment…,” said Coleman in a press release

Most recently, under Coleman’s leadership TGI Fridays expanded its presence at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport—a location with an anticipated annual revenue of $14 million. According to the company, the location “is on track to be the highest volume sales location of any U.S. airport restaurant.” Coleman has also led the brand through several menu changes.

Coleman joined the company in 2022 as U.S. president and chief marketing officer, where he led the domestic corporate and franchise stores in addition to TGI Fridays brand.

Earlier in his career, Coleman served as senior vice president and CMO of Dave & Busters, and held several senior positions at Del Frisco's Restaurant Group and Romano's Macaroni Grill. He also worked as CEO and management consultant for Brava Partners, a branding and business strategy consulting group.

In other news, TGI Fridays recently announced that 75 new franchised restaurants will open throughout South and Southeast Asia over the next 10 years.
