Chris Mitchell is returning to Condé Nast Publications as vice president and publisher of
Details, a post he vacated in October 2005 to become chief executive officer of BDDW, a
furniture company. He replaces Paul Jowdy, who was named vice president and publisher of another Condé Nast title,
Bon Appétit. The announcement was made by Charles H. Townsend,
president-CEO of Condé Nast Publications, who reorganized the publishing company late last year in a move that brought all the company's magazine titles under his auspices.
Details had
previously been part of the company's Fairchild Publications unit, which reported to group president Mary Berner, who resigned earlier this month.
Mitchell previously held positions as Associate
Publisher of The New Yorker, and as Publisher of ONE magazine. Before Details, Jowdy held positions as associate publisher of Vanity Fair--also a Condé Nast
magazine--and advertising director of Condé Nast Traveler.
The appointment is effective immediately.
